Allies controlling your units

Im not sure if it has been discussed but i think it would be a great idea if your playing on a map with friends or friends and enemies to give your ally control of your bricktrons to help build faster or work as a team etc.

Wouldn't be an use for this if there won't be multiplayer, correct?
Oh, and cl_ogar0, I like your Aku avatar. Gave me memories.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that they were intending to do multiplayer...

I think mutual-permission control over one another's bricktrons in coop games would be nice... especially if you could choose to only grant control of certain units or all (with some sort of visual cue as to which units you can control)

I do not see a reason why they would not implement a share control function in this RTS similiar to all other RTS games. It would surprise me if they did not include it in the game.

Well, with my experience from WC3, I seriously hope they do not incorporate a share system.
Sure, alliances and labeling other players as enemies would be cool but... Sharing units? It'd end up being way too confusing.

    TL;DR: Don't like that idea.

with my experience from Haven and Hearth (a cool mmo-like game about building your own village from scratch, and protecting it from others by brickwalls)
shared unit control would be very good addition when you have much work and not enough builders, just because your cooperating friend is afk or cannot play right now.

this should be disabled and enabled at will without forcing anyone to do so.

also i have quite much experience from wc3 map DotA, and shared unit control over item courier was great function (but quite vulnerable to trolling) because you had no controll over which units you want to share.

thats why there should be option to choose which units you want to have shared controls. (archers, melee, builders or everything combined)

Yeah, this would fit and would be awesome, temporary diplomacy would be awesome too, like Red Alert 2

This would be great. I can already see my buddy and I playing this in the same room and we're yelling at each other to take this many bricktrons and do this and that.

I think they would also need to add an ally system. Not to share troops but so your guys know not to shoot a certain team in a PVP situation. I can just imagine a friend evacuating to your castle when you gun him down with archers by accident.

Have to agree with WaffleZ on this. As cool as it sounds, I'd get frustrated quickly if I had a unit assigned to something and then my partner (albeit unknowingly maybe) took that unit for something else....I return 10 minute later after exploring or whatever and my said task was never done.-face would ensue

Cooperative multiplayer would be hard to design. Sharing bricktrones, resources and time is not simple, because there are two players planning each one something. Probably would be better some feature wich share resources or bricktrones for a limited time... But also i think it's not a great idea having the same thing in two...

I don't mind a co-op mode, infact I would love it...theres plenty of room on some islands for two people to have two minds, but build on structure twice as fast....but no sharing units.

That's what optional/selective sharing is all about. If you're assigning a unit to do something, why would you share it in the first place?

I don't think allies should control your units :/
    I made a post why.

This isn't going to work well. If you're AFK and give control of your Bricktrons to your ally, they may be under a secret deal with your enemy, or maybe even betray you and destroy everybody over conquest. I don't really like this idea.
  17. I think this could work in three way's

One.optional, so think of SC2 you have a little check box in some nameless window when checked it give one of your ally's control of your guys not all your ally's just the one's you pick.

Two. Giving, When you select A group of units you would like to give to your ally NOT share. give The units become owned by your ally you pick and you no longer have control of them. Colour's change a coordinated.

Three. non/optional, It would be a game mode of a sort wear there's two teams say Red and blue Each team as 3 player's on it and one large fort. The 3 green player's control all of the green units with more player's that's more macro and micro for one team unless. one could spend all his time building well other attacks and other mine's Ext. they did some thing like this in age of empires 2 I enjoyed it allot. It makes for a Great game.

I'd be okay with one or two... three, not so much -- everyone (allied) having full control over everyone else's units would just get too confusing.

Same, in option 3 I see something like my earlier decent of the idea says happening.
  20. Well its called co-op you and 3 friends you know and can work well with. Say throw team-speak 3 or a ingame voice or text chat. There'ed be way's to play with less but one's you get board of that more is all way's more fun. Just think of all the task's you could do if you could but aside the madness for a moment. It would a eccentric Done well you could build faster split army's effectively And fight harder AI then ever be for. The only reason that people would look down on it is the fact that they have one dumb ass friend that would slow ever one down and **** up. With a clan or a Good well organized team it can be done I can show you a video of totalbiscuit following my clan enclave on Planet side 2 and it show's how a clan and work as a real team moveing around 20+ people in a very ladder leader set-up and team skills. This would only apply if some one is killed or beaten he can still help his team in what ever way he can by useing his units
