I am curious about the length of games. Will it be like Minecraft where it is a continuous never ending world or will it be like the average RTS where the average game lasts about thirty minutes? I am hoping that they will be like Minecraft where all of your creations will remain forever. What are your thoughts?

Of course never end, if it will have a end, will be in another mode, I can't even build a simple cube in 60 minutes, who say a castle...

I am hoping on multiple game modes with various times, but I do hope there is one endless mode; especially if it had co-op.

im also up for the endless for the simple reason ill need as much time as possible to build my tower to the stars!

The only problem I see with never ending is if there is pvp. How would that work when someone is off line?

A multi-player versus with another player would probably be limited by time, most likely slower than say, a match of SC2. Probably a couple hours. Single-player would be more focused on exploration and creation rather than unit creation and attack, and would have no end, or, if it did, it would be a very long game.

As for PvP, say, in a co-op or multiplayer mode with multiple potential friends or foes, remember that the Bricktrons will probably be pretty autonomous at that point in development, and will be able to defend the castle they're stationed at. Not as well as a person, of course, but with superior numbers and fortifications, you can probably make sure that your castle can survive long enough without your guidance.

The end in pvp mode will be when someone lose or quit, obviously.

For pvp you should bring your own prefabs so that while your opponent dothhers around placing blocks your bricktrons are making a tower or part of a castle.

There should be like a survival mode where you get to build a castle in, say two hours (Or less if castle building is faster), then waves of enemies come continuously.

    I'm hoping for an
    Endless Creative Mode - Endless
PvP - Depends on how its set up
PvE (I.E Skermish Vs AI) -Depends how many/ difficulty of AI selected.
    Campaign - Depends on Missions

And now that Artemis mentions it, I like the idea of survival mode, coop would work there too, sorta like Operation: Stonewall on Company Of Heroes

    PvE? Never ending for sure!
PvP (Other players or AI with same ruleset) 20-30 minutes preferably; same for PvP with PvE.

I almost wish there would be a persistent server you could host, much like minecraft. Have your friends log in and out while their castles always remain.

i chose 60 minutes because it was the longest stretch before never ending... there is no way a game would last less than 10-20 hours (for me at least), with all the planning, coordination and of course building... perfection is a lengthy process... ;)

I guess it depends on the speed you play the game (if they implement multiple speeds). But around 45 to 75 max would be good for a solid matchup PvP. But like a Singleplayer mode, I feel that could go on for days depending on how long you survive and how much you explore.

I think PvE should be endless or have separated missions. And i have idea, that when you switch to multiplayer you can choose for example one island and your enemy also, after that the combat begins or just like above. But that's only my idea ;)

I'm going to expand on my idea for the campaign. I would have it as one super huge mega map with all the missions taking place on it and the map being persistent between missions, the missions objectives would begin on the first island and the objectives would slowly bring the rest of the map into it. Would easily allow a tutorial at the start then.

They should put in several different game modes, those that want to just take their time can go on the never ending journey, and those that want to fight things out fast can go on a Brutal battle journey or Castle defense journey.

Personally, I don't care other than I hope to see a never ending journey like how people can play Minecraft as that's my primary interest in these games, to build castles or forts or whatever I can think up.

I want different modes to last different amounts of time. The free build/ sandbox mode should be neverending. The easy/ medium AI should be however long the player wants to take to eliminate the useless enemies ;-). I do not see there being any reason for time limits or restrictions. I do however want to see difficulty settings that are extremely hard to last very long in. I want it to be a challenge to defend your castle as the enemy AI is super strong and just does not let up on your castles/ islands. Obviously you need a little time to get set up in the beginning but other then that you are far game.

    Sandbox single player (endless)
just build for fun, no enemies. Also usefull to make schematics

PvE / Co-op survival (endless but gets harder over time)
every night monsters come out which will become stronger every time (like 5% or something)

    PvP faceoff (45 - 120 minutes)
Just fight against your friends or some random people on the internet

PvP survival (endless but gets harder over time, preferably about 60 - 120 minutes but really strong player can make it to about 4-5 hours)
just like the above mentioned PvE / Co-op survival but then the goal is to outlive the other player

Most of these game modes have to have the abillity to safe and continue later. Especially the survival ones...

I would say PvP should still have night creatures, just not very powerful sieges. Otherwise the world would just seem empty (more so).
