Paypal is literally the worst business to deal with, and there are entire sites dedicated to their...shady business practices. Sadly, they are a necessary evil to deal with.

It is exactly that. that's why we put a "sign me up" button instead of a "buy me up" one on our webpage. it is administrative and legal issues but that's the way it must be done.

I have a question for you: did Sauropod studio pay taxes on our payments? I was thinkin' about it. It's some sort of "selling promises", all the backers like me will receive something for money... There will be some bill in the future, or something like this? I was really curios

Here in Italy something like Kickstarter is absolutely impossible...

here it is: About the prototype release, remember that we aim for mid october.
  9. Andrea Member

They actually aim for mid october

    Everything is delayed

Actually i'm very angry about this last "update". By the way I'm going to play something else while waiting for that.
  11. BruceP Active Member

Yeah, could be something like that.

    @andrea

don't know if u noticed, but there have been some KS projects also here in italy
anyway i think that as soon as the studio recieves the money (it may took up to 2 weeks of processing) they'll send the bills for what we've purchased, like always. maybe it tooks a while since they have to process 27K people...

I know, but I think that the process would be different. Gain a heavy amount of money in Italy wouldn't be very easy. I work with a VAT number and I have encounter a lot of problems... I was just curios

Hope you guys get everything sorted out in time.

Not delayed actually but getting as much work done on the alpha/prototype before they submit it to the IGF (Independent Games Festival)
  15. Chimaera New Member

mmm maybe all this processing time is thought for this purpose, u don't immediatelly recieve money so that you can be ready under the legal point.

also because, honestly, it wouldn't take so much time to move moneys troughtout internet nowaday(what? speculation? :p)

exactly... from the onset (once the clarification was made about the KS tier dates being incorrect), the goal has always been to deliver the prototype at some point before the IGF...
  17. Andrea Member

I know, I was only joking. I love to act like there's an apocalypse incoming on us and we've no more time to play the prototype...

It's not a problem of travelling money. It's the waste of them on useless taxes. Kickstarter method is some sort of "donation system", but here in Italy you can't run a VAT number and gain this amount of donation (with a product development activity) without troubles. That's what I mean

Patient is all i can say.

It is their first project so let them make it as good as they possibly can.

i got your point... well, then i onestly don't know... maybe since they actually sell something...

anyway, since i have a exam session this september, it won't be that bad for me, studying is easier without such a massive game :p

Actually I think it's simply the deadline for IGF submissions... the IGF isn't until March next year :p (unless I am mistaken)

edit: I'm fairly sure we won't see the prototype early as they will most likely use the same thing they send to IGF which would mean they would want to polish it as much as possible before the deadline. However this is all speculation. Like how bout those new iPhones?
